It's officially Spring in Vancouver, and what better way is there to celebrate than with bright yellow Meyer Lemon bars?
These delightful lemons were a gift from my mother (yes, we gift with food!), and I knew they'd be absolutely perfect in our family recipe for lemon bars.
Just the perfect mix of sweetness and tang, I'm reminded that Summer is just around the corner.

No, don't go! It's true. I swear. The trick is to know the process, and I found the best video (actually a friend's mom!) that makes perfect pillowy puff pastry as easy as pie.

Confetti Cupcakes
Cupcakes are always ready for a party, no?
But narrow definition of party aside, I think confetti (or funfetti, or rainbow bit) cupcakes are the partiest of the party cupcakes, and the weather was so awesome in Vancouver this week it was time to celebrate.
And I definitely found cupcake nirvana with these. They're a super light vanilla cake that combines expertly with my perfect chocolate frosting recipe.
The result? The best damn cupcakes that are worthy of a party of their own.
