Owl Sugar Cookies and a Giveaway

How adorable is this little guy?
He comes from a recent order, where I was sent a similar design and asked to recreate it (the original design can also be found here!).  The cookies ended up so cute I almost felt bad giving them over to be eaten.  A few of these will be making an appearance at the Baker's Market this Saturday, as well as some other cute and delicious treats, so don't forget to pop by.


But wait!  That's not all...


When they're not busy creating websites solely devoted to finding you the perfect barstool, the good folks over CSN stores are handing out free stuff.  And this time, they want to give you, loyal (or otherwise) reader, a $35 giftcard to any one of their numerous online stores.


The contest will be open for one week, until Wednesday November 17th, to residents of Canada and the U.S.  You don't have to become a follower, join me on Facebook, or kiss my ass in any way (but you should).  Just leave a comment here telling me what your favourite dessert is, and a winner will be randomly selected (via random.org) after the contest closes.

  9. Lemon mousse. Or anything with whipped cream or a whipped cream-like consistency. And most things chocolate. It is absolutely impossible to pick one favourite dessert. You of all people should know this.

  15. California fresh fruit cake. White cake with blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and kiwi (fresh banana optional) and fresh whipped cream instead of icing.

  22. Cheesecake...I love this maple walnut cheesecake and also white chocolate raspberry (classic combos). But I can never turn down a cupcake. Especially a red velvet one. Mmm...I need all of those things now!

  36. I am a brownie girl with a giant scoop of vanilla ice cream and extra chocolate drizzled on top... HEAVEN! Those owl cookies look too good to eat. My son would love those! Wish I lived in the area so I could take him to meet you and grab a couple of goodies!

  68. Ooh, that's tough. Something not overly sweet, or something that has sweet/salty combinations. I think it's a toss-up between creme brulee and peanut brittle.

  79. This summer, my boyfriend and I went on vacation to Vancouver! We had the most AMAZING dessert there. It was at a tapas restaurant (unfortunately, I forget the name). The dessert was called sticky toffee dessert. It was the moist cake, topped with gooey toffee deliciousness with vanilla ice cream. I will never forget it.

  80. Cheesecake. Can't live without cheesecake!! My favorite is cappuccino fudge cheesecake from the Smitten Kitchen! I adore it. I've also received two marriage proposals and a few indecent propositions after serving this at a party. :-)
